Meross Smart WiFi Air Purifier Review: A Game-Changer for Smart Home Integration

Super Quiet, smart air purifier

When I set out to find a quiet, efficient air purifier that integrated with Apple HomeKit, I came across the Meross Smart WiFi Air Purifier. After using it for a few weeks, I’m thrilled with how well it performs in my main bedroom.

Why I Love the Meross Air Purifier

  1. Seamless HomeKit Integration
As someone who loves smart home technology, this purifier exceeded my expectations with its effortless setup. Adding it to Apple HomeKit was a breeze, and now I can use Siri to control it hands-free. There’s something incredibly convenient about saying, “Hey Siri, turn on the air purifier,” as I’m settling into bed. The ability to set automations—like turning it on before I get home or off during the day—has made my routine much smoother.

  2. Whisper-Quiet Operation
One of my biggest pain points with my previous air purifier was its noise level. While it worked well, it was far too loud for a peaceful night’s sleep. The Meross air purifier operates at just 24dB on sleep mode and stays quiet even when running at 100%. This makes it perfect for a bedroom or any space where silence is key.

  3. Effective Filtration
Equipped with an H13 True HEPA filter, it effectively captures dust, pollen, pet dander, and odors. Since using it, my bedroom smells cleaner, and I’ve noticed fewer allergens floating around, which is great for my allergies.

  4. Sleek and Compact Design
Unlike bulky purifiers, this one boasts a modern white finish and a compact design that doesn’t take up much space. It fits seamlessly into my room without being an eyesore.

  5. Meross App
I am really bad at knowing when to change my air filters, not only in my furnace, but in my air purifiers as well. The Meross app has a built in feature that shows what the filter life is. I really love that feature. It will also remind you when to change the filter.

What Could Be Better

  1. No Direct Air Quality Automation
I own a smart thermostat that monitors air quality, and I was hoping to create an automation where the purifier would turn on automatically when air quality dips. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to figure this out yet. It might be possible through IFTTT (If This, Then That), but I haven’t explored this in-depth. I’d love to see a direct integration or more support for this type of functionality in the future.

  2. Reconnecting to HomeKit
I have had a little bit of trouble reconnecting the air purifier to HomeKit after I have unplugged the device. I am not sure if it is a router problem or something else. If I delete the device from HomeKit and go into the offline devices on my router’s app and delete the air purifier it seems to allow me to add it back to HomeKit. I have only had that issue once.

  3. Filter Replacement Costs
While the Meross app conveniently notifies you when it’s time to replace the filter, it’s worth noting that filters need replacing every 3-6 months, depending on usage. This is standard for air purifiers, but it’s something to keep in mind when budgeting.
